3 more days until Vulture Awareness Day at World Bird Sanctuary! ☠️ Osiris, the Egyptian Vulture is a wonderful bird who loves to look good. Egyptian Vultures will actually use iron rich soil to color their usually white feathers. They wear their make up as a status symbol. Osiris always makes sure to look his best, especially since he is becoming a movie star! He has gone out to a few movie shoots recently, but we don't know which movie yet. ☠️ Similar to the Hooded Vulture, the Egyptian Vulture is endangered do to an anti-inflammatory being used in live stock. Their numbers have dropped by over 90% in recent years! The World Bird Sanctuary advocates vultures safe zones to help protect these important animals. ☠️ Learn more about these super awesome birds on Vulture Awareness Day this Saturday, September 23 at the World Bird Sanctuary!
