The cold weather here in New York City is not going away - and snow is predicted later tonight. It reminds me of the cold morning when I was photographing the famous Moulton Barn in Mormon Row near Jackson, Wyoming. The barn is now part of Grand Teton National Park. - - -

It is cold here in New York City. On my photo walk the other night to Bryant Park, the fountain had icicles hanging from it. The temperature was about 22 degrees Fahrenheit, -5 degrees Celsius. Since then it has gotten even colder. - - - 7riii

Temples and balloons in Bagan, Myanmar. I am hoping a pretty image will help bring attention to the plight of the children in Myanmar. With all the country's problems the children are suffering the most, and the number of orphans is staggering. The Mudita Foundation from Germany is trying to educate and house these orphans. With the holiday season upon us it is a great time to be charitable, by volunteering or contributing money. Check them out at creative - - -

Archaeologists and workers excavate Border Cave on the border of Kwa Zulu Natal and Swaziland. This important site has evidence of human habitation dating back 200 000 years, giving weight to the belief that Africa is the origin of man. - - - -

Going through my archive this weekend I found my favorite Mongolian camel lady. I have ridden her bactrian camels many times on my various trips to Gobi desert in Mongolia. Riding through the sand dunes on these magnificent creatures is an incredible experience. I plan on doing another workshop in Mongolia in the near future. Stay tuned. . . . desert
