( ) ใƒปใƒปใƒป Over the years, throughout all our schooling, my sister and I have brought home all our binders and duotangs at the end of the school year instead of throwing them out like other people did. ๐Ÿšฏ 14 years later? Each folder you see (arranged in this satisfying colour spectrum ๐Ÿ˜‰) has been used for multiple different subjects as the years and semesters have passed.๐Ÿ“š While looking for a folder for my midterm exams next week, I came across my Grade 2 math book that I'm now going to use for my Calculus notes 10 years later ๐Ÿ˜… Everything we own has far longer a lifespan than we give it credit, so don't chuck it out: it. ๐ŸŒท๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ’œ๐ŸŒˆ . . . Info!! ๐Ÿ˜ Scientific name: Semnornis ramphastinus Common name: Compรกs English name: Toucan barbet . This is a typical bird of the humid forests on the western slopes of the Andes. Seen in the south-west of Colombia, normally between 1400 and 2400 meters above sea level, it is still quite common locally but reduced populations are reported due to the loss of their habitat. Also the capture for the trade of caged birds, in this case, endemic species of Colombia. Apparently the Toucan barbet are fussy about the size of their nests and like big trees!! Sadly deforestation means there are less bug trees and therefore less suitable nesting sites....

๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ There is always hope ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ™Œ ( ) ใƒปใƒปใƒป โ€˜A ban on ivory sales in China, the world's largest importer and end user of elephant tusks, takes effect on Sunday with wildlife activists calling it a vital step to reducing the slaughter of the endangered animals. China has made a big push to eradicate ivory sales and demand has fallen since early 2014 because of a crackdown on corruption and slower economic growth. Public awareness campaigns featuring celebrities have helped boost awareness of the bloody cost of ivory. Wildlife groups estimate 30,000 elephants are killed by poachers in Africa every year. "It is the greatest single step toward reducing elephant poaching," said Peter Knights, chief executive of the group WildAid. China has allowed the sale of pre-convention ivory, which refers to products such as carvings and crafts acquired before the 1975 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), as long as it is accompanied by certificates... The ban on all ivory sales has already led to an 80 percent decline in seizures of illegal ivory entering China as well as a 65 percent decline in raw ivory prices, said conservation group Under the ban, China's 172 ivory-carving factories and retail outlets will also close. Some factories and shops started closing in March.โ€™ Story care ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ˜

Be like a in #2018 ๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž Believe it or not a group of ladybirds is called a 'loveliness of ladybirds' s ๐Ÿž This is a picture of the the most common Seven-spot ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿž The scientific collective name for ladybirds is theย Coccinellidae, which originates from the Latin wordย coccineusย meaning โ€˜scarletโ€™. ๐Ÿž Folklore says the lady in the name ladybird refers to the Virgin Mary, who wore a red cloak, and the seven spots symbolise her seven joys and seven sorrows. In the middle ages farmers would pray to the Blessed Lady, the Virgin Mary to save their crops from pests like aphids which the ladybird loves... a ladybird larvae can eat up to 5,000 aphids. Ladybirds live between 1-3 years and hibernate during winter months. ๐Ÿž If a ladybird is threatened, it can squirt aย smelly, sticky, toxic hemolymph liquid from the knees making it completely unappetising to a predator. ๐Ÿž Ladybirds lay both fertile and infertile eggs, the infertile eggs are a source of food for the larvae which hatch from fertile eggs. When times are tough, a ladybug may lay an increased number of infertile eggs to give her babies a better chance of surviving. We like that forward planning Mrs Ladybirdโœจโœจโœจ ๐Ÿž Happy New Year to you and your loved ones from everyone at GTT .... May 2018 bring truth, love and light and lots of ladybirds.... ๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž๐Ÿž
